Happy and Grateful Recollections.

Wellington, Feb. 7 The Governor-General. Sir Charles Fergusson, has issued the following farewfell message to the people of New Zealand: “On leaving the Dominion. Lady Alice Fergusson and I wish to express our deep gratitude for all the kindness shown to ns by one and all during our stay in the country. In our farewell tours we have tried to convey to you our appreciation of all chat has been done to make our stay pleasant, and to express the happiness with which we have made our home among you during the last five years, and the regret with which we part from you. Our term of office has I passed all too quickly for us. and 'we have nothing but the most happy laud grateful recollections of the country anu its people. 1 Special Message io Native Kaee. “We would like io add a special word of thanks and of farewell to the people of the native race whose friendship and confidence we have greatly prized. An Affectionate Farewell. “To all in New Zealand wo send an affectionate farew’oll, not forgetting the children and young people, who have at all times been such a joy to us.
