The nomination of Kir J. Moorhead has been received in connection with the vacancy of the Waihi Borough Council, which is to be filled by means of a. by-election. Archdeacon and Kirs Chatlcrten, of Rotorua, are leaving on an extended holiday to the Old Country. Mr J. 11. Watson, of the U rals Department. Napier, has been appointed to the position of accountant, tor the V» aiariki Native Land Baa'd b. place ~f Kir L. (. I' - -<'km. xx | to has been promoted to the position of accountant of the Aotea Land Board. Wanganui (says the Rotorua Chronicle). The death has occurred ai Christ church, at the age of So of Mr George Scott, founder of the firm of Scott Bros., range makers, lie was formerly a member of the Cilv Council, Harbour Board and Technical College Board.
