PRIME MINISTER’S KEEN
INTEREST. ,Thc Hon. P. A- de la Perrolle, Minister in Charge of Tourist ami Health Resorts met the Rotorua Borough Council on Monday. The Mayor Mr T. Jackson, drew attention to the need for healthier conditions at Whakarewarcwa anu asked for Government aid in th matter of the council’s projected sewage disposal scheme. He alsc asked that an aviation ground be provided. The Minister said the Prime Minister had put his whole heart into the work of restoring Rotorua to its proper position as a spa. He promised to do what he could to acccd to the requests submitted to him. Tne Minister said that 50 men would be put on to the work clearing all the waste Government lan lying to the east of the cricekt ground so that it could be utilised for a. sports ground and golf course. Th declivity to Lake darawera, ftom Warioa Road would be recommended to the Public Works for immediate treatment.
