town hall. For the last time to-night "All at Sea/' featuring Karl Kane anu George K. Arthur, will be screened at the Town Hall. .Last night s audience acclaimed this comedy to bo right up to the standard of fun fare usually provided by the famous comedians, and of course, many new gags and situations are added, which make the comedy more enjoyable. As the title suggests, it is a naval comedy and Karl and George are seen as sailors who are deadly rivals for the hand of a pretty girl (played by Josephine Dunn) and their efforts in that direction lead them into many riotous situations. A comedy featuring the popular Charlie Chase and a News complete a very enjoyable programme. On Monday and Tuesday next, the William Fox masterpiece, “The Four Sons,” will have its season at the Town Hall. This is a photoplay such that comes to the screen once in many years, and tells one of the most beautiful and human stories. In the little village of Burgendorf there was happiness of the quiet kind, a gentle air of pastoral .content. The country folk had their simple tasks, their self-respect and a great love ,for the Fatherland. In all the village there was no one more beloved than Grandmother Bcrnle. lor a time there was the same air of peace upon the village of Burgendorf. Their sharp bugles rang out their cry. Grandmother Bernle knew what was coming. Her husband had worn, the uniform of his country. Again she brushed back the tears and smiled upon her two strong sons. Johann and Franz marched away, leaving Andreas to take care of the beloved Mutferchen, the little mother. “The Four Sons” has broken records at theatres in the principal cities and towns of the country and is hailed by the public as one of the test pictures in the history of the motion picture. The box plans arc now on view at Stevens Bros., the Strand.
Oi'EKA dOUSE. A specially selected double-star silent programme will be screened at the Opera House on Friday and Saturday neat. One. of the features being the sointilatiing comedy drama "Powder My Back." Irene Rich is cast as Fritzi Foy a musical comedy queen and providefe many laugh provoking situations in this fast moving romance which tells of a reform Mayor who closes her show because of its nudity and whom out of spite, she tries to compromise. The Mayor's son also becomes her ardent admirer and the methods she uses to restore him to his fiancee. and also wins over his father, make a most entertaining and [ vivid picturization. of life back stage. The second feature "Out ;of the Storm," stars Jacqueline ', Logan in one of her best portrayals, assisted by Montagu© Love, and Edmund Burns.' Circumstantial evidence plays a big part in the production which holds the attention from the. first scene. It tells of the many encountered by a young couple before they could live in peade and happiness after a stormy courtship and marriage. Through a chain of circumstances the young people become involved in a shooting affray that ends tragically for one and nearly sends the young husband to his doom. At the very last minute the hero is saved from the electric chair by his wife, who has only just learned he is accused of a "murder of which dhe "Wia§ the innocent cause. The element of suspense is held admirably throughout the various dramatic situations.
