HAZARDOUS
O-LD EIiECTHICAJL INSTALLATIONS IN BOUOUGH REWIKING NECESSABY. The hazardous condition of .certain, electrical installations in tie bo.-ough was made known, at last; night's special meeting of the Tauranga Borough Council by the reading of & letter from Mr it. V. Lush, electrical inspector to the Council of tne Fire Underwriters Associations, Auckland who stated : "Sine;; ray visit in ISiovember last, I noticed that several installations have been straightened up, but there are a great number in a hazardous condition and require i your immediate attention. In I most oasos a complete rewiring is necessary." Mr Lush submitted a list of some of the 'installations that aro n a very bad state and should be attended to immediately. Mr Lush concluded: "These are only a few of the bad installations 1 saw, and on ray next visit, in February, I will make a further inspection. I would suggest that you carry out. your re-inspections of all installations as early as possible in compliance withi the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1927, clause 214 (2). I shall be pleased at any time to give your engineer any assistance in cleaning up the old installations." Tiie Council referred _ the letter to the engineer for action.
