.MEETING OF EXECUTIVE,

A meeting of the Executive Committee of the Tauranga AgricuU tural and Pastoral Association was held pn Mr B. C. Robbins’ office on Saturday last. Present: Mr J. K. Hamilton (in the chair), Messrs 13. C. Robbins, P. T. Keam, F. W. Keam, H. S. Benjamin, H. J. Clarke, C. E. S. Ganc, R. T. Johnston, W. S. Harris, R. SteTvart, H. G. Lever, T. F. Ridder, J. Darragh and J. L. Blomquist (Secretary). An apology for non-attendance was received from Mr H. Silvester. Correspondence and accounts were read and received. Mr Darragh moved —That the accounts as read be passed for payment.- —Seconded by Mr F. W. Keam and carried. In reply to a letter from the Agricultural and Pastoral Association urging that Tauranga be included in the itinerary of tho vis iting British and Canadian farmers, the Dominion Secretary of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union wrote advising that the touring farmers would trawel via Rotorua, Whakatane, Opotiki, and Gisborne, and time would not permit of their visiting Tauranga. Mr Robbins moved —That very strong representations be made to the Dominion Executive of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union in an endeavour to get the itinerary of the visiting British and Canadian farmers altered so as to include Tauranga and Te Puke in their tour of the Bay of Plenty, and that a copy of the resolution bo sent to the member for the district. —Seconded by Mr Darragh and carried.

Mr Hoult, of llunciman, wrote offering his services as judge at the next show. Mr Darragh moved — That tho letter be filed for future reference. —Seconded by Mr .Lever and carried. ; Mr Darragh moved —That the action of Mr Keam in getting a motion put through the North Island Conference of A. and P. Associations, asking the Government to exempt A. and P. Associations from rates, be approved. ■ Seconded by Mr Johnston and carried. , The Secretary read a report of . the Conference held at Whakatane to fix a circuit of show dates for the Bay, when the following dates were fixed; Onotiki, February 1, 1930. Whakatane, February 5. Te Puke, February 8. Tauranga, February 11 and 12. Katikati. February 19. Mr F. W. Keam moved—That tho action of the delegates be affirmed. —Seconded by Mr Lever and carried. Mr Hamilton moved—That each Association in the circuit be approached re ■ donating a points prize for the most points gained by one exhibitor in the five'shows, each Association to donate £l for horse classes and £l for cattle classes. —Seconded by, Mr F. W. Keam and carried.
