EARTHQUAKE RELIEF

DAIRY .COMPANIES HELP

A number of dairy factories operate in tho devastated area of the South Island, and at a conference U'f over 300 dairy company delegates, held in Whangarei on 26th June, a resulution was passed urging dairy companies to contribute to a special fund to be established under the control of the National" Dairy Association of New Zealand. A good response has been made so far, but a number are waiting until tine annual meeting, so that shareholders may have a direct say in tho sum to be donated. At a meeting of the executive of the National Dairy Association, held in Wellington, it was decided that distribution of the fund should be made direct, and not through the Central Fund; also that donations received should be ear-marked 1 for the relief and Assistance of dairy companies and their suppliers in the affected area. The following contributions have been received by the National Dairy Association :
