TRAIN ACCIDENT

FRENCH EXPRESS OVERRUNS SIGNALS MANY KILLED AND INJURED. Paris, April 17. An express train, bound from Paris to Amsterdam, over-ran the signals near Brussels. There followed a shocking collision with a goods train. The engine of the express, after cutting through the end of the goods train, continued for 100yds and turned a somersault through the gates of a level crossing into a street. Twelve persons were killed and 20 were injured. Ten bodics have already been recovered. Many of the injured are still pinned beneath the wreckage.
