MOTOR ACCIDENTS
THREE PERSONS KILLED train wrecks cab. Invercargill, March 4. ■Three lives were lost in or near Invercargill on Saturday as the result ol motoring accidents. The names of the victims are;—Mr Adams of Bush Siding, died in hospital; Mrs Adams, who received shocking injuries and was killed outright. Stewart Henderson, aged 17 died in hospital. Mr and Mrs Adams were driving in a motor-car car at Kennington on Saturday afternoon and were on their way to town when the northbound train to Dunedin crashed into the car, Mrs Adams ivas dead when picked up. Mr Adams was sent to the Southland Hospital, but died shortly after his admission. The car was wrecked.
Tho accident in which Stewart Henderson lost bis life occurred at about one o’clock on Saturday at the corner of Thames Street and North Road. The deceased and his brother Morris, aged about 22 years, residing at Waikiwi, were admitted to the Southland Hospital, where Stewart succumbed to his injuries. It appears that tho brothers were riding into town on a motor-cycle, one on the pillion. At the intersection of Thames Street ami North Road they apparently swerved to avoid an approaching car and in so doing crashed headlong into a motor-truck that was proceeding along North Road. Medical was at once called and when Dr. Collins arrived he assisted in removing the younger of the boys from underneath the truck.. Subsequently the injured youths were removed in the ambulance to the hospital in an unconscious condition. The elder brother has a fracture of tho skull, outs and abrasions and is also suffering from shock.
