VICTORY FOR QUEENSLANDER. (Per Press Association.) Wellington, June 21 In a contest, which was brutal ol action throughout the whole of the fifteen rounds, Harry Casey,' ol Queensland, look the professional middle-weight championship of New Zealand from Luchie McDonald at the Town Hall last night. It was a very even contest ami the verdict went to the challenger by reason of his more spirited finish. The crowded iiouse thoroughly enjoyed the clever display given by both boxers, who hit hard' throughout. The pace was exceptionally fast for the middleweight contest, and there was plenty ol incident. Casey made up in speed fur what he lacked in weight and scored repeatedly with his left. The weights were: McDonald, list 51b; Casey, 10s! 9ilb. Among the amateur bouts the Olympic candidate. A. J. Cleverley (list 101 b) met W. E. Tyree (12sl lOjlb) and after u willing bout the former got the decision. All his skill was required to wrest victory from his resolute opponent. PURDY AND FAIRHALL DRAVy. The bout opened tamely and livened up in the sitxh round. Fairhail then hud a slight advantage, but Purdy forced the lighting and in the remaining rounds used both hands. He appeared the winner at Bit opening of the last round. huP* Fairhail rallied and made a draw* The majority favoured Purdy.
