DEALT with at monthly MEETING OF HOARD.

The monthly meeting of the TauTan( » a Hospital Hoard was held in die .Borough Gonncil Chambers yesterdav- Present ; Messrs T. Lochhead * (Chairman *, d . Hume. V. J. Scant lebnry, J. Murdoch, ,J. AJfcGhie, H. King, Colin McNaughprn and I’- Grant.

A medicine cabinet was also required.

Mr 11. B. Shearman, town dork, wrote intimating that the Board’s letter in reference to the emptying of sanitary pans has boon referred to the borough inspector. Mr Scantlebury reported that the Council had decided to erect a concrete place for washing' tlie* pans. Resignation,

The Seareiarv cf the Bar of Plenty Hospital Board, Whakatane, wrote advising that his Board 15 quite agreeable to the Tauranga JTo-s.pi ta 1 Board’s letter, as dratted, ■going forward to the DI recto r-Qen-«al of Health. The letter to the Directcr-Gener-of Health was to the effect, that * ll the opinion of the two Boards an <ild people’s home is required in Hie Bay cf Plenty and that it will i more economical to have one UOint for {he two 1 Boards. Ivatikati, forwarded report for August. Eleven patients were attended. New Hospital 'Buildings. Mr H. H. Clemson. registered architect, submitted a report cn the Tauranga H ospit al as follows: “Very good progress is bang mad© with the work in all trades. The roof framing is completed and the roof is being rapidly divert'd in by the tiles. The electricians have the work of fixing the conduit well under way- The Iwo ranges have bit'll ordered. I have communicated with' the contractors, Messrs A. and T. Kurt, and informed them as to the arrangements decided on by the Building Committee re washing machines, etc., and I have asked them for quotations for the alterations. The internal plastering is commenced, while the plumbing work is going on steadily. The wdmlows are arriving on the ground. ‘'Storm Drain, Tovey Street. The county engineer has taken the levels of this road, but has not yet completed I lie plans. With a view to drain off the water in front of tln j hospital after the heavy rain. A number received the approval cf the Board and others were opposedMr King moved That a remit be forwarder! to the Hospital Beards Conference urging that the time of probationers who have server.! not less than eight months continuously in a smaller hospital be counted towards their training period. Seconded by Mr McNaughton and carried.

The question of sending delegates U. the Conference was c< nsklered. Mr Hume moved- That the Chairman and Secretary attend the Conference- Seconded by Mr Scant lebury and carried. Medical Superintendent.

Dr McDiarmid. superintendent of tin- Tauranga Hospital, attended the nneting of the Board, and submitted various matters tor the consideration of the Board. General Matters. The Board spent considerable time in the e, nsideral ion of matters associated with the admission of patients to institutions in other districts: financial aid To several applicants; and fees .due for treatment aj the Board s hospitals.
