ELECTING A PRESIDENT

A meeting of the Left Parties of both Chambers held to select a candidate for tc-morrcw’s election cf President of the Republic, resulted in M. Painieve obtaining 308 votes, and M. Doumerqne 149. The successful candidate must obtain, an absolute majority cf the votes cf the 872 deputies and senators expected to be present.
