COLOUR BAR IN AMERICA
HIGH FEELING IN dARAN. By Tel .—Press Assoc. Copyright. A ust. and N.Z. Cable Assoc. Rec. .May 21, 8.5 a.m. Tokio, .May 19. 1 he beginning of what i.s regarded as a Governmental campaign, 10 induce the same discussion of foreign relations. is seen in the action of two mass meetings, which adopted, resolutions denouncing the United States Congressional action in connection with immigration and appealing to the American press and public for greater leniency towards Japanese desirous of entering the United States. One mooting was held under the auspices of tho Members of Parliament and the other under the auspices of the University Students Association. The first resolution coenluded with an admonition for prudence, composure and wise judgment and the avoidance of mob action by Japanese, while the .students appealed to the American students, through the American press, to take proper measures to prevent the. Bill being enforced. Apparently the Japanese loaders are realising that high feeling must vent itself and are endeavouring to guide direct action along radical lines, emphasising that the action of Congress is not the respresentative opinion of the American people, hut tho issuing of a warning against an hysterical and impassioned protest.
