The New York Times Moscow correspondent says the State police department contributed to the gaiety of the Christmas season, which technically is not Christmas, by expelling from the city ne >riy a thousand persons who were undesirable urbanites, namely bootleggers, card sharp ers, confidence men, smugglers, usurers, drug users and drug peddlers, keepers of brothels, and persons with no regular occupation.
