MAY DAY STRIKE
IN EASTERN AMERICAN CITIES.

Rec May 3, morning New York, May 1 A sporadic small strike among various industries in ten Eastern American cities occurred on May Day, involving less than 50,000 workers- There was no violence, though in several cities the police were compelled to disperse overflow audiences at Socialist meetings. JAPANESE WORKERS PARADE. Tokio, May I Various parades of workers, displaying Red bands, occurred here and in neighbouring citiesLarge forces of police kept order, a few arrests being made- The police strictly enforced the regulation against the display of the Red flag. A large gathering was addressed by Radical speakers. DEMONSTRATION AT HYDE PARK. Rec May 3, 8 50 a m London, May 2 At Hyde Park the May Day demonstrators adopted a resolution in favour of the workers of the Commonwealth.
