NEW ZEALAND LEMONS
TRADE WITH VANCOUVER. Advice has been received by Mcssis Turners and Growers, Ltd., of Auckland, that what is considered to bo the first offering of New Zealand,. lemons in Vancouver opened up in a very satisfactory condition. '1 he t.u.. was shipped by the Makura, on her last voyage, and it created a very good impression among the consignees, comparing more than tawurahly in appearance and quality with the lemons imported from California. Although tiny do not anticipate a very extensive trade in lemons at present, with Canada and America, Messrs turners and Growers consider that tho report of this consignment will have an important bearing on the ore of the local industry. The report, coupled with the excellent display at the winter show, bears out the statement made before the Tarifij' Commission that New Zealand lemons can be successfully grown in a commercial way in New Zealand to equal anything of the kind imported from California or Australia. Since January 1 last this fir minis handled over eleven thousand eases of lemons.
