SCHOOL CHILDREN'S COT FUND
The school children’s effort last year resulted in a success beyond all expectations as the subjoined statement, presented :u the meeting of the So John Am bulance Association will show. It maj lie taken a* an evidence of what cur young people, with the co operation of their patents and teachers, can do when their s empathies arc aroused. W hen the appeal was made to them to raise funds to obtain a cot for the Hospital, they responded with the keenest interest. To enable every child to have a share in the work the subscriptions weie limited to three-pence, but this did not restrain their generosity as many subscribed twice, and others gave sums from sixpence to two shillings. Noticeable also on the list are generous subscriptions from “grown-ups, ’ assured ly not given of necessity, J. A,. Cnulson (Otumoetai list), ‘‘Teach er” (Ohauiti list), Miss Lacey and Mrs Currie, Ohma {Tauranga list) The latter wished the names of her little children Sheila, Dick, and Bri in, tc be included in the good work!
