FIRE IN PETROL DISTILLERY
(By Cable —Press Association CopyrigM i London, Apr 26 Forty fire brigades fought i fire at Capel and Leonards petrol distillery at Hackneywick. Lorries were requisitioned to throw tons of sand on the blazing oil flames, which shot hundreds of feet in the air. As the oil tanks were involved the neighbouring houses and factories were evacuated, the inhabitants fearing explosions. The fire was eventually controlled, only the still house being guited. hiRY tanks, each containing uvs thousand gallons, wilhin the works, e c caped.
