OIL SEARCHERS WRECKED.

Telearach—t'feds Association Ausmnar. *£<l rctble Association, Bee April 12, 10,55 a.m. Sydney, April 12, The Port Darwin oil-searching party was wrecked at Point Pearce. Two of the missing members, Crampton (owner of the lugger) and Ferule (drilling expert) were last seen swimming in a tempestuous sea. There were five survivors, including two ■ Europeans, named Sands and Best wick. The latter had thrilling experiences, being cast ashore at the foot of towering cliffs, which they managed to scale. They reached the shore without their clothes, boots or food.. They met a tribe of wild and fierce-Jook-ing natives, who, however, treated them well and supplied them with food. They then started to walk to Port Keats, fifty miles distant, taking three days. The only food was shellfish'and' a hag of flour found on the beach. They were terribly tortured in their nude condition by myriads of mosquitos and other insects. Failing ip secure help Sands walked back to Point Pearce, Bestwick was too exhausted to make the journey. Sands induced the skipper 01 a Malay launch to return and rescue Bestwick.
