THE PRICE OF WHEAT
DECLINE AND RECOVERY. Tho decline in the price of wheat continued during early November, (says Plum's commercial circular, dated December) until the Decernber option at Chicago was quoted at slightly below 1.00 dollars per bushel. A sharp recoveiy has since token place owing to a revival of the demand for export, caused by news of higher prices at. Buenos Aires (due, to undesirable rains) and by reports of excessively hot weather in Australia. These influences, together with a i over-solid condition of the market, caused an advance (0 1.14 dollars per bushel for the December delivery in an active market. Attention has already centred on the 1922 crop of winter wheal; stands are said to be vigorous, but mots' ure is badly needed in most sections and heavy rains or snow are anxiously awaited, to prevent freezing. The acreage is thought to be somewhat below that of last, year. Quotations for maize are practically without change for the month, the December option at Chicago closing at 49 cento ‘ per bushel.
