A combined meeting of the com. -£*- mittees of the Borough Council and Chamber of Commence to cousidfrthe matter of the visit ofthe Prince of Wales will be held in tha Borough Council Chambers to-morrow —Friday—evening at 7.30. IN THE MATTER of " The LDC rt l Bodies Loans Act 1913 » and of " The Municipal Corporations Act 1908 " and amendments aud of " The Tauranga Borough Council Electric Lords Empowering Act 1919." THE Tauranga Borough Council HEREBY GIVES PTJBLTC NOTICE that such Council proposes to raise a Special Loan of <£30 000 for the following purposes; — 1. The bum of £3946 j6s 7d for the purpose of refunding to the District Fund Account the sum of £3946 16s 7d expended on Eiectric Works and installations which the Controller and Auditor General has certified is capital expenditure authorised to be raised under the Taurauga Borough Council Electric LoaDs Empowering Act 1919. 2. The sum of £645*0 for the purpose of paying off the amounts borrowed or being borrowed by or on behalf of the consumers in the Greerton, Otumoetai, Papamoa and Te Puke districts for the extension to and erection of lines and installation of elfctric light atd power in those districts. 3. The sum of £10,000 for tho purpose of extendiug the Power House and Elecrtic Works at the Head Works Omanswa Falls and purchasing and providing the necessary Turbines Generators plant machinery and labour.

4. The sum of £3000 for the purpose of erecting and purchasing a transmission line for Eieotric Power from the Head Works Umanawa Jfalls to Muir's Gold Reefs Limited with all necessary plant, machinery, Transformers appliances and material and providing the labour therefor.

5. The sum of £6603 3s cd for the purpose of general extensions to the Council's Electric Light and Power system and the erection aud purchase of lines Transformers plant machinery and appliances AND to make an annual recurring Special Rate of 1/11 in the pound sterling on the annual value of all rateable property in the Borough of Tauranga as security for the interest and sinking fund in connection wi'h, such lean.

The whole of the loan is to be repayable at the expiration of 36£ years from the date of raising the loan and the rate of interest is not to exceed 5-A- per centum per annum.

It is proposed to pay out of the loan moneys the cost of raising the loan and the fist years iuteiest and sinking fund en the loan.
