BOWLING

The 1919-20 bowling season was opened on the local green on Thursday last. The day was almost ideal for bowls, and with the green in excellent order a very pleasant afternoon was spent.

The President, Mr J. A. McKenzie, briefly welcomed the members and visitors (many of whom were present from Te Puke and elsewhere) and wished them an enjoyable afternoon and a pleasant and successful season. Mrs McKenzie then rolled up the jack and play was commenced, all the rinks being occupied by teams representing the President and Vice-President, the former winning by 125 to 98.

On Monday an all day tournament will be'hekl commencing at 9.30.
