Auckland Market Report.
Mr J. Jones, auctioneer, New City Markets, Auckland, report for ths woek ending June 20, sajs : The market this week has been quieter. This applies to both the auctioneering and grain trade. Values in most lines are still firm. Potatoes are considerably firmer. Poultry and pigs came to hand in good supply, and prices were satisfactory. Kumeras are slightly firmer. Eggs and butter are a shade easier. We quote:—
Poultry—Hens, prime, 3s 9d to 4a fid, good 3s 6 1 to 4-, a liae of 86 e xtra choice h^avy Orpington hens averaged 08 2d ; duoks, Indian Runner, 3s 3d to 4s 3d, heavy du-ks 4s to 4s 9d ; geese, 58 to 635 turkeys, gobblers 83 to 13s 61!, liens 4s to 7s.
Pigd—l2s 6d to £1 9s 6d.
Farm Produce—Potatoes, Southern and Melbourne £10 to £11, local table £6 co £7, local seed £6 (market quiet), Southorn seed £8 to £9 10i<; onions, 355; swedes, £4 to £4 10s; kumeras, £7 10s to £9; pumpkins, £0 to £7 10s.
Dairy Produce—Butter, Is Is to Is 23; eggs, la lOd; cheese, lHd; hams, Is 2d; bacon, sides Is 26"; honey, Gd bulk.
Fruit—Apples, dessert, 6s to 12s 63, cookers 53 to 9s; temons, 83 to 103 6d; pears, 12a 6d to 15s 9d.
Grain—Market very firm. "Wheat, 7s 6■; oats, 5j 1 Od; bran, £8 10s;rice meal, £10 10s; Algerian seed oars, 6s 9d ; chaff. Southern £10 10a to £13.
