A COMPLIMENT.
Special Picture Entertainment.
Duriug ilin laafe twelve months numerous patriotic efforts have been made in Tauranga, and it is perhaps safe to assert that in almosb every cine the Town Hall -has had to be used in one way or another, The unfailing courtesy and ready help rendered by Mr F W Vleikle, he lessee of the hall, has prompted several of those who have interested themselves ia these efforts to give him a complimentary picture entertaiument The compliment will be of course the ree-rd crowd which ibis confidently anticipated will fill the hall on tliali occasion—Tuesday next the 30th iust. In one way the promoters will be under a still further compliment to Mr Meikl?. He will provide thc^ hall and the pictures, and pay his own amusement tax. The Tauranga orchestra, however, will provide the music, and we -feel sure that the public generally will provide convincing proof that, they appreciate heartily Mr Meikle'a efforts duriug the pasb twelve mouths to further the patriotic functions which haVo been held' in the Town Hall.
Sxouker's heart is a distressing malady caused chiefly through tie effects of an alkaluid called m-ujtiuo, which is oxtrcnaely poisonous Strong tobiucos with a high percentage 0 of nieotiao should therefore ba avoided, Whea selecting a brand, the eaukor should not be guided by the appearance alone, because eyon an apparently mild cigarette tobacco of a bright lemon colour may contain—and often does contain—an excass of nicotine, but more injurious aa a rule are the dark juicy grade-i meant for pipe smoking. This juice fouis the pipe and is responsible for tho soppine-s and bite, it also impairs tho combustibility. A freely burning tobacco is never sopp}'. Take for instance our N Z grown (iold Pouch tobacco. There you have an absolutely pure article, which can b^ stnoked continuously without the slightest after-effects, it burns to the last shred, leaving the nicu h sweet and clean. So highly is N 2 tobacco commented upon by d.. ctorsand experts that it ia merely a question of time ■when the growing and manufacturing of N Z loaf will be'jome one of our most important industries.
