ASYLUM ESCAPEES
Both Recaptured
Auckland, July 24
The Raratongan Nuku, who escip3d from the Avondale asylum, was recaptured last night near Henderson. Mr Muir, the hospital farm manager, saw Nuku and Keals, the other escapee, crossing the road. Muir fired shots near Nuku,]wbo surrendered, butKeah got away. A later telegram says Keals was found bj a search party in a deserted whareat Henderson, wearing only a waistcoat, shirt and trousers, covered with mud. He was evidently feeling the cold acutely, and offered no resistance. He said ho had enough of it and welcomed recapture.
