Sir D. Haig repoits: "We captured a few men and nine machine guvs in a successful enterprise south of the IScarpe liiver. We also repulsed a counter-attack in this sector. In. a ■ successful counter-attack last night the First' Division threw the enemy out of advanced points in the defences arouud Giveuchy and Jtf'estubert gamed by him ou Wednesday at the co3i; of heavy losses, We gained aU our objectives and re-established pur positions. We drovo back an attacking euemy force after sharp fighting south-east of llobecq."
