Cfcecse.- -The market is rather unsettled, on account of the action of the Government, Canadian, white 126s to 128s, coloured 128 ato ":130s; English cheddar, in fair demand, 136s to 3405; United States, flats, vhite, 1223 to 1265. N.Z. importers have been notified that the.Government has commandeered all the cheese on the Arawa. It is anticipated that similar action will be taken with regard to shipments to arrive shortly Hemp.—The market, is firm, but u/ssettfed, pending nest arrivals from Manila. Prices continue to advance. Good fair New Zealand hemp, psr ton.£s4, fjiir £52; Governmeut graded fair Manila £58, coarse £55 10s; January-March shipment, good fair New Zealand £53, fair £51; Government graded fair Manila £57, coarse £55. The output of heirip from Manila for the v?eek ending last Saturday was 187,000 bales. Wheat —The market is firm, ..but unsettled. Quotations are nominal. Canadian, arrived 82s 6d, afloat 82s; Australian, afloat, 80s. Oats—The market is firm, and prices continue to advance. Argentine, 455; Nei? Zealand, 46*.
