Military Service Bill.

Wellington, June 10. The Legislative Council met at 2.30 p.m. yesterday. Replying to the Hon. Mr Paul Sir F. Bell said the Government was introducing legislation dealing with the exploitation of rent payer?. The remainder of the afternoon was fpeit in discussing the proposed amendments in the Standing Orders. These weie finally agreed to and the Council adjourned at 4.55 p.m. until Wednesday next. The Ho-isa mat at 2,30 p.m. After formal business the amendments made by the Committee in the Military Service Bill were agreed to on the voices. The House then proceeded to the third reading debate. The Minister replied aftet 2 o'clock. A division was taken at 2.40, when the third reading was carried by 44 votes to 4, amidst applause and the singing of the National Anthem. The House rose at 2.45 a.m.
