SPIKED CLUBS IN WAR.
The war correspondent at Salonika (Mr Shepherd) states that the men in the great war are now using clubs. The Austru-Germans are supplied with bludgeons, and on certain parts of the Brit sh front the soldiers are furnished with spiked clubs for noiseless use in the trenches during night rurprises. The Germans used a riew shell at the Dardanelles. It was rropelled from an airgun, and weighed 511b, being loaded with" s^rap iron. "
