A Paris message says the taking of Labassee, where two German army corps are quartered, surrounded by exceptionally strong earthworks, is regarded as essential ia auy concrete forward move ip order to protect communications of the allied forces, who look upon it as one of the hardest problems they have to solve

We captured Baryagazoll, taking a thousond prisoners and six machine guns. Subsequently we repulsed three night cetinter attacks
