Enemy's Heavy Loss.

An eye-witness with the British headquarters' staft relates an incident on the 2_th inst., not mentioned in his last report, which led to a slight loss of ground for the British, but with heavy casualties to the enemy.

The Germans exploded a mine underneath a trench and several yards were blown in. German snipers occupied the part destroyed and enfiladed the rest. Meanwhile a larger body of the enemy advanced and our gitas opened fire with der.dly effect, scattering the enemy and killling many. We also bombarded parts of the occupied trench killing th- occupants.
