The murderer narrated h o w he felled the wife of the jeweller, a nc! was escaping when the 'daughter entered the room and clung to him until ho felled her with a jemmy. , Trenkeler declares that he was driven to commit the murders by the irresistible longing for gold and jewels. An attack of. hemorrhage seized the wretched man and necessitated an adjournment.
