The Bishop of Lorfcdoia, in addressing* a diocesan conference, stated that the lasting solutuon of labor unrest was to get -behind tte higgling of markets. Clerics ought to have preached more eftect.uaMy to both sides. "Wages should 'be1 -a' lir«< charge upon industry, and if industry'required sweated labor ft was better for the nation to afmndon it.
There has only been m\n award in five weeks under the Conciliation Act. Only seven out of twenty-one district parties have 'agreed to selecting chairmen, and the Hoard of Trade wili appoint the remainder. Anxiety exists respecting the outlook.
