The earnest business of the Tren-th-am- moeting started at 8.80 this moruin<g, when the first shot of the championship series was fired from the Collins Jlangc. The first event was the Auckland match, 300 yds and 500 yds. 10 shots. Thy best scores at the 800 yds range were Elliott (Auckland) 50, JHithie (Christchurch) 49, Atkinson (Auckland) 48, Anderson (Wanganui) 47. A large number of competitors each made 46. The weather is fine, but there is a strong ImlHing breeze.
