HOSPITALS FOR ROTORUA.

The .Public Works Department is inviting tenders for the erection of a cottage ' hospital and an ■•infectious diseases hospital in Kotorua, According to the Rotorua 'rimes, the. isolation hospital, which will be erected on a. portion of the .sanatorium reserve between the il'ostmastcr bath and the Wairoa road, will be of w o od. and of plain design. Provision is made for two wards—one for males and one for females — the former 27ft by 12ft and the latter i 10Ut by 12ft, each with a veramlcih 9ft wide running the full length. Ja the caitre, between these wards is a single ward, 10ft by I.oft. and kitchen. The whole building .will f" 68ft by. 22' ft. The ■infectious diseases ward will be situated to the south of the present sanatorium, wrth which: if will 'lie cjimneeted with « covered way. -This, also a plain wooden structure, will contain two wards, each 124 ft 'by 18ft, a one-bed ward Bft by 12ft. The male atvd female wards will be connected with a wide corridor, at right angles to which will be one giving access to dulyroom, nurses' 'bedroom or special ward, st wilising'-room, anaesthetic lobby anil operating room. The total wklth of the main building- will be close on 00ft. and of the annexe 1.-Ifl. As in. the isolation* hospital, the sanatorium arrangements are most up-to-date.
