At the Trentham rifle meeting yesterday the C.A.C. Cup, valued at £70. was won outright by the Karori Rifle Club. Trentham, this clay. The business opening of she Trentham rifle meeting commenced at 9 o'clock with the service matches. 325 competitoi'3 taking part. Rain fell. Colonel Collins addressed the men and explained that the rcdired attendance was due to Territorial affairs being in a transition stage, it was anticipated there would be a thousand entries next meeting, and he thought there would be no difficulty in the men obtaining a voice in the election of the exectuive of the A ?ocition if they desired. Arrangements were being made to further encourage Rifle Clubs. Later. The snap-shooting, loophole, and rapid-firing matches are in progress, but no re ulti will be known until late in the afternoon.
