ON THE VOTE OF THE SPEAKER
Wellington, this day. At midnight the division was taken on Mr Malay's amendment, which resulted in 39 votes being rast each way. The voting was as under:-

The Speaker, Sir Arthur Guinness, gave his casting vote in favor of the existing Government, according to constitutional practice.
Mr Massey congratulated the Premier, and Sir Joseph Ward similarly thanked Mr Ma?sey. also his supporters and the Independent-.
The House then rose and adjourned till 2.:J0 on Thin* day afternoon.
