LICENSING ELECTION.
THE triennial election of five representatives to serve on the Tauranga Licensing Committee will be held on Tuesday, March 12th. The boundaries of the district are those of ttie electorate and from what we are able to gather persons living in JEtotorua, Te Aroha, Matamata, Tauranga and Te Puke will be nominated. There is every indication that more than five candidates will send in nominations to the returning officer, so an election seems assured. Nominations close with Mr T. R. W. Philpotts, returning officer, at noon on Saturday next, March 2nd, and every man desirous of becoming a candidate must be nominated by not less than two electors of the district. As so many parts of the electorate are likely to be represented by candidates the contest should occasion a good deal of interest.
