DUNEDIX, October 25.

At the Police Court to-day George Bishop, a sturdylman, who was £90 in arrears under a maintenance order for the support of thTee children in an Industrial School, was sentenced to nine months' hard labour, Mr Widdowsou, S M remarkiug that as defendant was so callous he would have to work out his indebtedness to the country for his family's support. Mr Cummin!?, of "the Patients and PnsoDers Society, said he never kiiew a man more callous and cowardly towards his children.
