THE CORONATION OATH.

PROTESTANT PROTEST. ;

(Received 29, 8.45 a.m )

London, July 28. The Protestant Truth Society has entered a pretest against the new oath on the ground that it does not provide against the mental reservation or papal dispensation, and is merely on parallel lines to the oaths taken by Charles II and James 11, both of which proved ineffective. Members of the society marched in procession to Downing-street and cried " no popery." The police eventually stopped them.
