Quartermaster-Sergeant Reeve tnid Sergeant Floyd, on iKjhalf of the Tauranga Mounted Rifles, accepted a challenge to lire a inatcl^ against three of the best civilian rifle shots ■in the Bay of Plenty.' The match ,to consist of seven shots and onfc sightor at 200, 500, and 600 yards ;( the losers to entertain the winners at a dinner.
The day proved one of the worst ever experienced on t;he Taurniiga range, the wind, veering at- times from north-west to south, from south-west to (west, •and the light changed every few minutes.
