The -apparatus is used by uncoiling the wire, fastening it to the highest available branch of a tree and coEmetiug it with the receiver. The octal cone is stuck in the ground and «1» connected with the receiver. The opeatar is then ready to receive mesngttfrom any wireless station within 20or SO miles, his only care being to *ifc& the movements of the needle on the indicator dial which points to Wfctt letters or signs in accordance *ftk Ike impulses received from the •mibg station. The apparatus canMfcjrf course be used for the trans ■ttottcf messages. The letter states tii«V the invention has already attracted H>« attention of the German military w%riiitt.
