TRAIN'S THRILLING ESCAPE
MELBOURNE, March. 10. A thrilling escapo from disaster occurred to a passenger train travelling at night between the Clifton Hill and Merri stations.
The train had jiust left the former siarionj and was approaching an irou bridge without doping ppmuing a chasm GOf t deep. The driver felt a thump, ani stopped .the train He found the leading wheels of the engine had left the rails, and were within IBiu. of the edge of the bri Ige when stopped.
