(Per Press Association.) Aucki and, Feb. 22. The New Zealand Swimming Championship meeting was continued last evening in the presence of a very large crowd The Mile Championship of New Zealand was the event .of the evening, and provided splendid sport. The' race was. won by M. E. Cham* pion (Auckland), after a grand race over ihe first stages with R. Healy (Wellington) and over the later stages with F. E. Dodge, the youthful long distance swimmer from Christchurch The race created a fresh New Zealand record, Champion reducing his own time * for the distance from 25min. 40 4-ssecs. to 25 mins. 37secs. The " Flying Squadron " race for teams of five men was won by the Waitemata Club (Auckland), Ponsonby Club (Auckland) second, Canterbury third.
