{We are not responsible for opinions expressed by correspondent*;. s BATHS IMPROVEMENT. (To the K«lit,.r.) Sir,— in r.nswcr to Mr Ward's eftfusion appearing in your issue of t W.ilnfU'.h'jy. last, let iro poi*i' out , that it was only a very short time t ago that Mr Ward seemed particj t I'rrly anxious to rush into this can- t trovpray and now he exhibits a some- ; what hasty desire for its termana- , tion. Nevertheless,, it is decidedly ; open to doubt, as to .whether the use of second-rate sarcasm, -liberally bey j sprinkled with personalities, termin- ( afcing little snort of abuse, can be deemed a very desirable method of attaining his wishes, but this might be, probably, a matter of taste. The maim issue of thrs matter is that the Council desired that the baths; .sTiould he placed in a Wrarouph state of repair. Mr Ward claims that this has ibeen done and I feel just as cert-aiiTi that it has not, or anything approaching it. To anyone taking an interest in t-hp matter I would say, believfl neither of us, but let them personally inspect the work and judge for themselves, and by such judgment I am prepared to abide.— l am, etcH. SOUTHEY,
