MR. ASQUITH'S CHOICE.
LONDON, Feb. 18. Mr Barnes' statement is more noteworthy after Mr Keir Hardies recent declaration that the Labour party will rapport the Government whatever course ft may take in connection with the Budget and veto. The " Morning Leader " declares that it is nor clear that Mr Asquith cannot remain in office unless he tells the King plainly that the whole of bis composite party reqnire the veto, as an immediate new crisis is due. The statement is circulated in the lobbies that Mr Asquith intended to explain to the House of Commons on Monday that the word "safeguards" in the Albert Hall speech referred wlely to legislatian.
