The Captain of the Lord Antrim Fined
(ttecuived 29, 9.25 p.m.) SYDNEY, Oct. 29. Captain Cordiner, master of the ship Lord Antrim, has been committed for trial on a charge of proceeding to sea in defiance of a detention order, because the life saving appliances an the .steamer were, defective. The Inspector of Navigation ■deposed that out of fifty lift- belts aboard only fifuvn of the number were serviceable. On ttl ch of two further charges for proctwliu- to sea without a pilot and going with defective life belt appliances Caplaii Cordaier was fined £10 and cosl^ (Received HO, 10.53 p.m •)■ ' , t .
