Caoe Politics.
Capetown, May 3. — Merriman, the well-known Bondite, has beea elected to the Cape Assembly. He replaces a member of the Bond, who retired. A Bill, excluding Chinese indentured labour from Cape Colony, has been read a second time in the Cape Assembly. Colonel Sampson said Govern* ment was determined to keep out the Chinese, but British coloured subjects would be admitted, if they held permits. Labourers* would be fined £100 if they entered the Colony without pennitt
