Louis, 750 miles away. One hundred thousand visitors are assembled at the Exhibition which probably will be in foil working order in the course of the present month. 25,000 workmen are still enI gaged in finishing the exhibition buildings, etc., which covers 12,400 acres, of which 128 acres are now roofed in. The cost amounts to 10,000,000 sterling, as . compared with three millions paid to France in the purchase of the Louisiana Territory 1803. New York, May 2. --Three hundred thousand visitors have already arrived at the St Louis, Exhibition. The latest world's fair is consi« dered equal to the combined at* tractions of the Paris, Chicago and Buffalo Exhibitions. It comprises a thousand Build* • ings and fourteen magnifioenfc exhibit palaces. The attractions include cascade gardens, with three huge waterfalls, illuminated by electricity. A beautiful feature is the replica of the great Trianon, it Versailles. The arena for the Olympic games will seat 25,000 people. Fifty foreign Governments will make elaborate displays. Great Britain, Canada, Ceylon and New Zealand are among the countries represented. The greatest interest is taken in Queen Victoria's jubilee presents. An Exhibition train was derailed at Kimmswick, Missouri, and fifty persons were killed and injured.
