Auckland, this day. — Another batch of troopers forming part of the Fourth and Fifth Contingents arrived from the South on Saturday. Major Major, who left Auckland with the Fifth Contingent was the only officer; the others were Gunners Watkinsand Douglas and Troopers Stiohbury, McLeish- and Nightingale under command of Regimental Sergt. Major Parker. A mistaken death report Wellington, Friday. — Q?he reported death in South Africa of ,G. JL Fisher, 'son of Mr George Fisher, happily turns out'incorrect. The latter to-day received a letter from his son bearing date June 11th, in it he stated that one of the Kaffrarian Bifles, LanceCorporal G, Fisher, was shot dead the other day ; the similarity of names must have given rise to the report. It was a son of the "Wellington M.H.R. who met his death in action. Both men were members of the Kaffrarian Rifles.
